You can re-organize files and folders at any point during a job. That being said, some thought at project launch will keep you from having to re-think the structure during the project. Being that Plans and Specs is folder based, it acts like windows explorer. We have found through time that indexing by folder is as important for team members to find their files as anything in the project.

Setting Up Folders
To create a folder:
• | Click on the Create A Folder icon ![]() |
• | Insert the folder name, description and sort order (if applicable). |
• | The sort will change the display of the folders. It is a numeric value that says keep "0" ( Geeks Speak :-) at the highest level. so if you want to display folders out of alpha - numeric order ( Structural above Architectural ) make the highest folder "0" and the Second "1" |
• | If You Click Restricted, the next screen will show the team members list, you will need to set permissions for the folder being created and user access. |
• | Saving |
• | Save Folder to save; will bring you back to the main screen |
• | Save & New to create another folder |
• | Save & Copy to copy and create another folder |
• | Cancel will cancel out folder |
To create a transmittal inside a folder, click on the folder name and proceed with the transmittal process as shown above.
